Matt LeBlanc

Joey Tribianni
Played by Matt LeBlanc, Joey is portrayed as promiscuous, and dim-witted, but good-natured, as well as very loyal, caring, and protective of his friends. He's a food-loving womanizer who has had more luck with dates than any of the other group members. In contrast to his "ladies man" personality, he has also a marked childish side. He enjoys playing video games and foosball. He loves sandwiches and pizza. He is a big fan of Baywatch. As a struggling actor, he is constantly looking for work. He was ordained as a minister in "The One with the Truth About London", and officiated at both Monica and Chandler and Phoebe and Mike's weddings. He does not like sharing food and has difficulty with simple mathematics.

After the 2003/2004 final season of Friends, Joey Tribbiani became the main character of Joey, a spin-off TV series, where he moved to L.A. to polish his acting career. His sister Gina Tribbiani and her son Michael were two other central characters of the show.
Joey turned down a role in a sitcom called Nurses to star in a different series pilot. His pilot did not get picked up, while Nurses became a huge hit. However, his acting career has had some better moments. In Joey, it is revealed that Joey's character of Dr. Drake Ramoray died again on Days of our Lives where he is stabbed by a nurse. He won a Daytime Soap Award for "Best Death Scene". In later Joey episodes, Joey landed a starring role on the prime time soap Deep Powder. When he got fired from that job, he almost immediately bounced back by snagging a leading role in the big-budget action picture Captured.
The series' penultimate episode sees Joey in an established and committed relationship with Alex Garrett, his next-door neighbor.

"The One With the Sonogram at the End"

Season 1, Episode 2

Carol, Ross' ex-wife, suddenly appears at his job to tell him she is pregnant. Meanwhile, Monica is freaked out since her parents are coming over and she doesn't want her parents to be critical about how dirty her apartment may be. Rachel asks if anyone has seen her engagement ring, the one she got from Barry. No one has, and Rachel immediately has a panic attack since she is meeting Barry to give him back the ring. Rachel remembers she had it on early this morning when she was in the kitchen making lasagna. Monica is upset, as this was the one job she gave to Rachel and now the dinner for her parents was ruined.
Ross arrives and tells everyone Carol is pregnant, while Phoebe finds the engagement ring. Ross tells his friends that Carol and Susan want him to be involved, but only if he is comfortable with that. Ross informs the group that Carol and Susan invited him to go to their first sonogram appointment tomorrow and he has no idea what he is going to do. He is still processing the fact that he has become a father, and he doesn't know where he fits in with two lesbian mothers.
Later on, in the apartment, Monica & Ross are pouring wine for their parents. After their mother spends the night criticizing Monica, she asks what is new with Ross. He eventually reveals that Carol is going to have his baby. Their mother accuses Monica of not telling them. Later, in Central Perk, everyone has left except for Rachel and Ross, who is trying desperately to start a conversation with his crush. They talk about Barry and Carol.
While Ross goes to the clinic to see Carol, Rachel goes to Barry. Ross discusses with Carol and Susan about the baby's name, and is horrified when his baby will not carry his last name. Ross realizes he is not ready to be involved and tries to go, but when they all see the baby in the sonogram the three are happy. Back at Barry's dental practice, Barry reveals that he went to their honeymoon with Mindy, Rachel's best friend. They are both dating now.
The final scene is at Monica & Rachel's apartment. Ross brought over a copy of the sonogram and the whole gang is watching it. Rachel is on the phone, talking to Mindy. She ends the conversation by telling Mindy that if everything works out and the two get married, she hopes the kids will have Barry's receding hair and Mindy's old nose. The gang is staring at the outburst from Rachel who says she knows it's a cheap shot, but she feels so much better for saying it.

Conspiracy theory 1

Was it all real?

There have been many conspiracy theories from FRIENDS however one that would change the entire format of the show would be rated to Miss Phoebe Buffay. A theory has been created that states the entire series of the show is intact a meth- addled fantasy of a homeless Phoebe as she stared through the window of Central Perk. All 10 seasons were merely her fevered imagination, projecting herself into the lives of the other 5. Looking back through the different seasons, it can be questioned that Phoebe made everything about her and referenced to how much of an outsider she was.
The final scene of the show would be Phoebe walking away from Central Perk, with Ross, Rachel, Joey, Chandler and Monica making reference to "the crazy lazy who always stares at us". The theory states that after this, Phoebe walks past a furniture store and catches her reflected in a mirror placed in the window. The name of the store? "Ursula". She returns to the park where she sleeps where it starts to rain. She sits in front of a fountain and puts up 6 dirty but brightly coloured umbrellas.

Phoebe's feeling of being an outsider from the group is played on by this theory. The fact she doesn't live in the same apartment block as the group and that she doesn't have a relationship or is related to any of the group confirms Phoebe's feelings of being left out and not fitting in.
However, this theory is extended further and questions whether every single one of the friends is imagining all the events that occur. Playing on the characters weaknesses, it is questioned whether they are all patients at a mental asylum who have created a fictional reality to help them cope. Each character her a weakness that could of put them there:
Monica- bullied about her weight and had to live in her brother's shadow
Ross- abandonment issues
Joey- the only boy in in a house of incredibly strong women and struggled to deal with them all
Rachel- self destructs and has daddy issues
Chandler- couldn't cope with his parent's troubled relationship and his dad becoming a woman
Phoebe- couldn't get over her mother's suicide
